If your application is internal, you may want to look at ASPEMail, its
a DLL that can send HTML Email from your application without the overhead
of outlook. The basic version is free. It's at www.aspemail.com

>Any suggestions? I have an application that is sending an email to a user with their Excel report as an attachment. The problem I have is that Outlook brings a window to the foreground stating that "A program is trying to send email automatically on your behalf. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus, and you should choose no."

>When I select the help button I get the following from outlook's help under the sub heading of Security added to Outlook 2000:

>A program is trying to send mail using Item.Send
>A program is trying to automatically send e-mail using a Microsoft Outlook Visual Basic Application command, Item.Send. If you want this program to send this e-mail, click Yes. To stop the program, click No. If you are unsure which program is sending the e-mail or why, you may want to click No to avoid any possible spread of viruses.

>I have tried a similar piece of code using CREATEOBJECT("MAPI.Session") with the appropriate MAPI commands and it works without this objection from Outlook. However, MAPI mail messages do not allow, at least I have not found a way, to send HTML email messages, as Outlook does.

>I want to add this email feature to one of my reporting applications, however, I do not want to have to baby sit the application when ever it receives a report request.

>Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
