I tried that. It doesn't act right.. The 'SaveAsUI' parameter is always set to .T. (whether it is a regular save or it is a saveAs). However, If you explicitly set the parameter to .T., Word will always perform a saveAs. If you don't touch it, somehow word knows what to do.

I'm pretty sure the save and the saveAs are the same function. So.. Word is checking something to see which one to do. There has got to be a way to check whether the save or the saveAs button was pressed.
