>About the SHFileOperation(): I was unable to find any documentation by searching for text "SHFileOperation" in the Microsoft Visual Studio directory (and below). Does SHFileOperation() work in vfp? (I do not speak VB). If it is just writing out 3 or 4 lines of code that woulldl go in a VFP program, could I ask you to code it for me???

Yes, it works in VFP; there's sample code in the Win API section here on UT demonstrating it's use in VFP for copying files. Go to the Forum Main page and look it up in the Win API section.

If you can't be bothered to look at the detailed example posted, I'm available as a consultant.

You can just use XCOPY via the RUN command, too.
