You have several options:

A) Use Adir() to check possible installed version size and date.
or
B) Write/Read INI file
or
C) Write/Read Windows registry
or
D) Write/Read DBF
or
E) Write/Read MEM file
or
F) Use strtofile() / filetostr() to save version to txt file
or
G) Use LLF to write/read version info
or
H) Use check file
