I use the copy on clients. Each client workstation runs a Launcher EXE, which checks somewhere on the server for the EXE (and other necessary files) updates. If there are new versions, it copies them to the workstation, then runs application EXE. It is much easier to distribute the updates, you don't need to kick out users from the application in order to update the EXE.
