I thought I replied to this once, but it doesn't seem to have gotten posted, so I'll do it again. Hope it doesn't show up twice.

In the tasks area, under view on the menu, under current view, there is view called active tasks. When the category is "expanded" you get a list view instead of more nodes. Thanks.
