I use the macros because they were used in the old FoxPro 2.X program to stand for variable names such as O_Attempts N_Attempts T_Attempts and Y_Attempts. I was trying to avoid rewriting the code due to time contraints. But I might change my mind and get rid of the macros. I am not hot on them. I guess they were used in part because whoever wrote the old FoxPro program did not have to do as much typing. And I guess because they also had many other O_whatever, N_whatever, T_whatever, and Y_whatever variable names and it might save time, but it's a pain to debug with all of those macros being used.
