I know this makes absolutely no sense but this technique sometimes work when I have painting problems when form is first displayed.

Open your form in Design mode.
Select the offending object (textbox).
Select Bring Object To Front from the menu even it's already on top.
Save and close your form.
Run your form again.


This type of painting can also occur if (but not always) you issue a SetFocus in the form Init.

I have had similar problems in the past and the solution is often something totally crazy!
