>>Della (and you too TAMAR), I am certainly appreciative of the time you have spent addressing this problem of mine. I was hoping for something a little more straight-forward like "Here is the VFP syntax for doing anything you would ever wish to do in WORD" but I guess the reality is ... It just doesn't exist. At least not in a nice neat little package. I don't work with WORD enough to justify a lengthy learning cycle so I look for a cookbook approach. I guess I will have to try to find some time and build a better base of knowledge from which to work. Thanks again for your help. Please consider writing a book which translates from WORD macros to VFP code .... I would be the first in line at the bookstore.

>We did what you want, except that, paraphrasing an old saying, rather than giving people a fish, we taught them how to fish. Since you apparently have our book, read the first 3 chapters, esp. chapter 2, closely. We explain how to translate from VBA to VFP. In the other chapters, we go over the parts of VBA we think people are most likely to use, but once you know how to find the information you want, applying it to the other elements of the language isn't too hard.

Well, I have started down the road of knowledge ...<g>... I have the Word VBA Help file as an icon on my desktop and have begun browsing it. The truth is there are a lot of examples from which to learn. I wonder if you could help get me past 1 more hurdle ... I have been looking and looking for the values of the various "wdXXXXXXX" types of constants that are strewn here and there throughout. At this point have had no luck in finding them. Any particular place where they all are ?
