Hi,
The goal I am trying to accomplish is to take a PDF document and get the info in it into a database, that is, from a VFP application. When I started on this task, it seemed like it would be easy enough. Most 3rd party software only worked as an Adobe plug-in and were not able to be controlled from an app. The software that did exactly what I wanted cost about 10K! (gulp). The PDF object model was not documented anywhere where I could find it (and I searched and searched for many moons).
What it boiled down to is that I found a product that can automatically generate an RTF from a PDF from VFP. It strips out all graphics and lines and leaves raw text. Now I would like to parse the RTF line by line to get the info into a database. Any words of wisdom of the best way to do this? Can this be done using office automation? Opening an RTF file shows what is not a very complex file - it's not even encrypted like PDF's are.
Any help would be appreciated.
