A couple of years ago I (Q:19980524, A:19980526) posted a question regarding multi-language support of (V)FP and you pointed me into the direction how to switch the Windows default codepage settings. I later realized that all this multi-language issues could be solved by using the RTF-control box in VFP so I thought I was in the clear.
Since a couple of weeks I have been forced to look at an 'old' FPW application that must support Polish characters as well. The tip that you gave me than (to adjust the hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\control\nls\codepage entry from 1252 to 1250) worked like a charm on my NT4WS machine. Looking in MSDN I have learned that you can also use the controlpanel\regionalsettings and to set the default setting to Polish.
Both option give the same result on my NT4WS and W2000 machines but I can't get it to work on a W98SE machine. Even after a complete re-installation of the last machine and trying to use either option causes the machine to fails to start. It doesn't even give a message it just hangs. The only way to get things back to normal is to run the setup program again and to reset it to US-English.
You mentioned that some fonts need to be present otherwise the machine will fail to reboot. Considering the fact that I'm using a clean install including Multi-Language support I fail to understand why it does not work on the W98SE machine. Any suggestions to what I'm missing.
Thanks in advance,
Ron Brahma
