What's the brand of printer on the Win2K box? I've expereinced this sort of thing with HP printers, when the user (via the printer properties dialog) has the orientation set at Landscape. What happens is that Landscape reports end up printing in portrait and vice versa. The only solution I've found when this happens is to talk the user through setting the orientation in the dialog back to portrait. Then, everything prints as it should.
