>I'm trying to have the primary key of a table as an Identity column, but when using a remote view that is buffered, I don't get the new Identity when adding a record unless I get the @@Identity from SQL2000 with another SQL statement, is there any way to refresh the view so the id is not 0 and instead picks up the identity from SQL?

You don't really need the @@IDENTITY value in this instance. Once you've added the record to the remote view, you can REQUERY() it to get the key value. However, you may need to reposition to the record you just added if you are going to do more edits.
