I could imagine several reasons, like programming the VCR using some known
language instead of endlessly pushing those stupid tiny buttons with
hieroglyphs (which can no way resemble a decent icon)... and having
Bowman's button (sound off, in this case) just a click away, and having
things like "FF 15 sec", "FF 30 sec", "FF 2 min" etc handy :)
Really, are things like that feasible with a VCR controller card?
