Hi Dave,

Nope. It may be marginally faster because I cleaned up some code. I am hoping that it'll run much better under VFP7 because (I am told) that VFP7 works and plays better with the underlying OS. I am not allowed to give specifics because it may violate an NDA. Also, I am going to be testing it soon under Office XP.

If you run FRX2Word with the Coverage Profiler option, you'll see that the speed problems stem from automation calls. Office is not particularly swift in interpreting and running the calls.

I am currently working on a whole different approach to this issue for FRX2Word Version 2.0. It will be comprised of Precompiler and Runtime classes. The Precompiler will create a template document with as much code and preformatting stored in the document as possible. The Runtime class will simply pump the raw data to the preformatted document -- which will be created automatically if it's not detected. I can't promise when or even if I will finish this but stay tuned.

Meanwhile, I have created a function which I would like to call SCX2Word. A client wanted the ability to print a graphical chart created in a VFP Form, so I automated sending it to Word to print. It works surprisingly well and you can expect to see it here soon.
