This is my first venture into the world of DCOM (CreateObjectEx), and I'm having a bit of a problem. My server app opens a remote view (uses the ODBC Link to AccPac Plus) and stops responding, every time. I can call the exact same .exe locally (CreateObject) with no problem. My best guess is that it's hanging as soon as the ODBC driver tries to show its splash screen (I've heard of limitations with in-process COM servers not being able to show UI--but what about DCOM?). I have confirmed with the vendor that, unfortunately, there is no way to disable the ODBC driver's splash screen. Anyone know how I might be able to get this thing to work?
