I have a commercial Windows SQL application that uses pipes to connect to SQL using C. Does anyone know if VFP is capable of talking directly to SQL without using ODBC. I've created my own app using ODBC and VFP that greatly extends the functionality - But there are problems. Such as - what if I don't know which DBs are available on any given server. I have to keep a dummy DB on the server at all times to get a connection because ODBC requires a DB name. Any thoughts?
