One caveat - the server name or share can't have an exclamation point (!) in it.

Our network administrator named our file servers with names starting with an exclaimation point (e.g. "\\!server") so they would appear at the top when looking at our network neighborhood. For years I thought VFP couldn't handle UNC names, until I happened to open a file in Fox on another group's server. :-)
