I suspect you are right, ( client side problems ) so I poked at the settings and tested using JavaScript, and at first the JavaScript didn't seem to be working either. Problem is, I had followed the web book as best I could to set my security for the browser, and BTW, the same admin account was used on the same computer for both the server and the browser!

the web book has several typos where parts of the sample code don't match the text, or the illustrations don't match, and in some places the sample code is loObject, in others it is oObject, so for a beginner it's easy to waste a lot of time due to a simple thing like that.

JavaScript is case sensitive, first samples from another book had case problems and unmatched brackets! Fortunately, FrontPage2000 has a script debugger, so I saw the problems right away, the fox web book isn't so forgiving! But I did get the java cookies to work within a few minutes, not so the fox code!

So I'll test the fox code again today!

thx
mike
