Depending on what you're trying to do this may be way off base, but it is worth
mentioning for the benefit of lurkers that you can just create a FP2.6 table and Word can read it as a datasource with no problem for merges. If you're doing this, probably best to create a view that renames fields to shorter ( i.e. <=10)fieldnames so the user doesn't see truncated names. Also, massage dates with DTOC() so they don't see 20010316 as a date < s >.

However, MS Word prompt a dialog box for me to confirm data source event I have pass .F. as confirmconversion parameter, my table path as name and connection string (copy from mailmerge.connectstring after I set the data source manually). How to by pass the dialog box?

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
