Michael;
I have been to a number of Microsoft events given in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Visual Studio and SQL Server. When time allows, I will ask the Microsoft presenter why they did not mention Visual FoxPro as a possible front end for SQL Server after mentioning Visual Basic is a part of Visual Studio and recommended as the front end for SQL Server. The SQL Server presenter told me he did not know anything about VFP or that it was a part of VS 6. The Visual Studio presenter did not mention Visual FoxPro was a part of VS 6, and after asking him about this he said he did not know!
I have suggested that Microsoft presenters and sales staff become aquatinted with the products they sell and represent but that too has been a waste of time. I am sure that Microsoft staff that interact with the IT community are trained and instructed on what to represent and how it should be positioned.
Friday continues…
Tom
