What's your definition of "stable?" The official advice is to install Beta versions on a non-primary machine. A lot depends on how many crashes you are willing to put up with in a day, and whether you can accept risk for that machine. Some people have "easy" installs and some have to reformat. ;-)

As John Koziol said, Beta2 is a "closed beta," where Beta1 was freely available. Beta1 is part of Visual Studio .NET and Beta2 isn't.
