Download the class and take a look at the docs. Ed is very good at documenting how to implement one of his creations.

As for when to use it, use it just before you launch the other application. For example, if you have a button that launches the report from the Click event, add code to instantiate this object and have it launch the application and wait. Once it's done, control will return to VFP in the Click.
