Folks,I've tried every combination of the TRANSFORM(cExpression,[cFormatCodes]) command in the
report designer's expression window that I can think of and nothing works.
The table for the report is a general journal of expenses with the following fields.
dDate, cRefnumber, cDescription, nAmount, cAccountnumber
The table is indexed (sorted) by cAccountnumber +DTOC(dDate).
The detail band prints all fields.
The account total band prints the total expenses for each account number.
This all works.
My problem is getting the account total band formated for American currency.
If I use only the "currency check box" in the report expression window to format the account total,
and check the "sum check box" for the calcuations, I get the following results.
for this is printed
12.76 $12.67000000000 ( I'm not sure about the # of zeros, but it's way too many)
2.49 $2.490000000000
333.09 $333.0900000000
I've checked the Windows95 regional settings for currency. It looks correct.
I've tried TRANSFORM(SUM(nAmounT),"$99,999.99") AND Lord knows how many other
variations with no success. I tried NTOM(). Sorry, Don't want 4 decimals.
Is there a better, more user friendly third party report writer out there?
What do you recommend?
Suggestions, Please.
TIA
