You may try to play with _asciicols and _asciirows settings, to get things right. Search MS KB for a bug in ASCII clause in report.

If you have more than one line in either of band in your report (especially, in Detail band), you may check this thread too: Reports & Report designer Re: Share my bitter experience... Thread #456312.
