You can always create a blank menu item with PROMPT SPACE(SomeLength) and SKIP FOR .T. to fill the blank area. This empty pad is selected when the user clicks on it but that may be OK in your case.
Note that you will have to keep track of the screen resolution size, the font used by the menu, and the position of the other prompts for this to work. This is not very complicated if you are building your menus dynamically from a table but it is likely to be a major pain in the butt if you are using the menu designer...
As Craig B. pointed out, this goes against current Windows guidelines.
