>Every where I have looked recently, I see your valiant attempts to push the Fox community into pushing M$ to market VFP. It just strikes me that if you put the same energy/effort into learning another tool or language as you have put in to your marketing crusade, you may not feel half as threated about the exagerated, premature rumours of the anticipated demise of our beloved package?

Learning another tool or language... this what EVERY VFPer should be doing. But my recommendation is QUIT VENDOR-SUPPORTED SOFTWARE. You are going to be in the VFPer situation one day whatever tool you choose. Software editors live by selling new tools. They care little about what you build with their tools. Developpers need robust environment, long-term code stability and open standards.

The day the vendor stops making money (VFP, PB...) or just feel this way. Move out to open source and forget the rest of them.

This is what i am doing currently with Python now (yes it also runs odbc and Win32), an impressive free and developper-controlled environment. But sure, Michael is right. It's a pity to see fox die.

Clearly a very impressive piece of software make. Rushmore speed, impressive string management, friendly and active userbase. MS is spoiling one of their assets. But rest reassured. It is possibly even worse to be a VB developper today.
