I looked at codebase several years ago. At that time it was fast, but clumsy to use. My app is fairly complicated as far as data is concerned ( some screens are opening up to 20 tables and several views) and I think it would be very difficult to do the things I am doing in VFP in Codebase.
I look forward to hearing your test results with db2k. It really would be nice to have a viable alternative to VFP just in case. I tried Delphi but it did not have enough flexibility for my needs. C++ just intimidates me. VB has been tried and found wanting and I feel Clarion does everything backwards. I am thinking about looking at C# when it is finished but I don't know what database capabilities it will have.
One last thing- DB2K promises platform independence. Do you think they are just blowing smoke or is it for real?
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
