am I wrong or can fetching only be set on remote views, and not for sql pass through statments.

2 things I want to do
1) set fetching on sql pass through so I don't need to use remote views.
2) have the record set that is returned from the data source return a new field called recno or some unique identifier that would be consistant for any query I do againts a specific table ( for quick search functions )

any ideas?
