You'll probably have a hard time to find a free ActiveX control. But you can always use PKZIP and PKUNZIP in MS-DOS through VFP. Not pretty (since MS-DOS window pops up when running). But it is free.

We use Xceed Zip here at work.. Pretty good. But of cause not free (not sure about cost).
