That's curious, really. I would have thought that the fact that ASUS and others are manufacturing motherboards for the Pentium II (that *is* the one with slot 1, isn't it), at least *some* specs would ahve to be "out there".

Not knowing anything about chip manufacturing, I can only speculate about what this might mean, but it does seem to me that it has to go a long way towards opening it up.

In other words, it sound more like more gossip than fact to me. We'll just have to wait and see.
