Hi - apparently, according to the SQL help below ...

Important Setting the TruncateLogOnCheckpoint property to True implies that backup-maintained database integrity relies on backup of the database only. When True, you cannot backup a database transaction log and backup strategies based on incremental backup of the log are not available.

... having the Truncate Log on Checkpoint option selected in effect, makes transaction log back-ups useless. Is this true, and if so, What advantage or reason would one have to set this option on?
