Nope, otherwise it would be named Office.NET. Its actually a transition to the whole .NET thing.
While we're on the subject, .NET could do some go things for office, and some bad things, it all depends on how far they take. For example, subcribing to Excel would be bad. But say, subcribing to Excel forumlas would be cool, you only pay for the ones you use, and if you need one that MS doesn't offer, you can just use the internet by finding another forumla offered as a webservice and use that. It will be interesting to see.
