Michael,
First, check that "AutoCloseTables" is set to FALSE in the child form's dataenvironment. Second, check to be sure that you haven't opened a table or cursor in the child form without using "USE...IN 0" so that the combo's rowsource table is closed and a new table opened in its select area.
