>The latest issue of Foxpro Advisor is shortened by another 4 pages and the ads, well, what ads. The editorial in the latest issue is about how we should also program in VB. Yea right. I would like to see VB Advisor tell their readers to also program in VFP.

>I am very dissapointed at how MS has treated VFP (and us) in favor of an inferior product like VB. I've had (and still have) the displeasure of using VB for development. VB is a mediocre tool for general purpose development. Crashes frequenty, requires many many many OLE's to do simple things and takes longer to develop, debug and support serious apps with it. It has no elegance and no innovation. I can program in other finer languages that are free, better supported and fun.

>Maybe you guys have the stomach to migrate over to VB and give MS the pleasure of holding you hostage again. I am looking at other options and I believe I have found freedom outside of MS.

VB is great and is only getting better...

I have had no negative experiences with using VB to build robust, data intensive COM components for the web. It offers a rich development UI, debugging and an elegant object-based error handler.

I love using VB and will continue to use it with the next version. I'm not too concerned about Python being a "VB killer". In fact, I laugh at the mere notion of this comment.

Good luck with all those Python job opportunities - I'm sticking with VB.
