>>We have a student database and would like to create network accounts for new students automatically when they enroll. The tools appear to be ADO and ADSI but before I run in this direction, is anyone using these tools?

>Actually, it doesn't really even include ADO (AFAIK, ADO is used strictly for querying). Check the MS KB. Search on VFP, "ADSI" and, erm, my name. It should bring up about a half dozen articles, one of which I'm pretty sure shows you how to add users to the domain. If you don't see specific code to do that, the examples should make it trivial to figure out. If not, ping me and I can whip up some sample code to demo this.

Mike,
Thanks for the reply and as my son would say "you are all over this stuff."
Your examples make the process seem a lot simpler that the approach I was taking with ADO. It looked like some advantages with ADO might be fetching record sets and applying filters? or do the objects have filters?
Also, where do I find reference to the object model? methods and properties and the like? is there a document that cross-walks the properties and methods available in the different directories (LDAP,WinNT,NDS,NWCOMPAT). BTW your browser application is awesome and you will be happy to discover it works flawlessly in our environment for all the directories listed above.
Lastly, how about adds, deletes and updates? I did not see reference to this in the code samples you posted...

PS Yes he was quite the runner, there is another that is not quite as famous but we are proud of him. His name is Mat Messner and he lives in Washington somewhere close to MS HQ
