Hi Michael,

I'm a Sole Proprietor. I don't carry Workman's Comp because it is not necessary in a Sole Proprietorship. I have a general business liability policy. It covers me if I go to a client site and one of their employees trips over my laptop case. I would be responsible for his/her injuries. If I got injured at a client site and it was their fault, their insurance would have to pay for my injury.

An LLC is not the same as a Sole Proprietorship. I believe LLC's need to carry Workman's Comp. Talk with a good business attorney about this.

HTH,
Jacci
