I have spent the past two days scrambling wildly to figure out what to do
about the imminent (supposedly immediate or within the week)shutdown of my
DSL service. Northpoint Communications is going bankrupt, and is about to
strand 100K+ customers with no DSL service, and with essentially no notice
whatsoever, and without any real hope of the prevention of interruption of
service. See:
http://www.northpoint.net or
http://www.dslreports.comIn order to avoid interruption of service for our email servers, and web
sites that we host for our clients, we are about to be railroaded into
signing up for a long term, expensive contract for T1, through Verio, our
ISP.
Is this affecting any of you out there? What actions are you taking? What do
you expect will be the result of the events that are playing out in the DSL
industry?
