The dropdown list in the datasource property is there because there is a table or view in the data environment. With prg's there is no DE so the feature would not work the same.

Depending on how flexible the Intellisense feature is, and I've heard it is going to be really flexible my guess is there will be lots of cool features added to it by developers everywhere and that the feature this thread is discussing will be there, if not by MS, then by some clever VFP'er who wants to be #1 on the UT download stats.
