Well... I think it is the correct term. The definition I've seen in The Guru's Guide to Transact-SQL is "a subselect that is restricted by, and very often restricts, a table in the outer query."
However, VFP doesn't allow subqueries in the SELECT clause. (At least I haven't been able to find a way) SQL Server would allow what you've coded. I saw an earlier post with iif() that should give you the correct results, or at least point you to it.
