That's our agency standard too, I can tell you that much - since most of our #s are US. But, to add to what John said, I also have small Memo fields available nearby on forms where users can enter or view such things as a non-US number or an extension - or any other pertinent little contact notes. For grids or report display, only the US phone # gets a fixed column, but the active grid row displays the small memo nearby. Or, for a report, usually a truncated memo is printed (with enough space to show any non-US #s in full).
