I was explaining some alternatives and telling you that it's quite possible that, because of VFP caching habilities, those small tables could be in memory after first access.
Not knowing how many tables, their size, how frequently or how are you using them, there were not suggestions at all...yet.

Barbara's response is more eloquent and complete that mine, anyway. :)
