I have a product to sell on the web and it's one price for everybody - except those from my home country who get it for a discounted price. Basically whatever the USD figure it'll be the same for us, but the exchange rate makes it much cheaper at home. We don't want to appear obviously parochial but do want to support the customer base which has got us this far.

I can have 2 URL's and control the content based on the URL called and just promote the local one in the print media and not register it with any search engines, but that doesn't seem very smart.

Email addresses don't necessarily work as the .com is so common that it's not really a pointer to the US anymore.

I can ask them the first time they visit and store the answer with their ip in MySql (do we trust them to allow the cookie - No!)

Does anyone have any smart ideas on how to get around this problem. Has anyone tried before?
