It sounds like your code for the menu item behind the click event is calling the menu item routine twice, or the routine is being called from .refresh or another method(). Are you setting any flags for the menu item routine? Do a search on your condition for the call. You can also look at the screen table(.sct) to see if you have a piece of code for the event that should not be there.
