I assume it means the header on the dbf has been damaged.
I used to get this sometimes.
We had a delphi program that tried to open some dbf files in our app and modified the header on the dbf file.
I tried to find this update30.prg it mentions in the help and finally found it one day but it didn't fix the file. Also foxfix could fix these files. IN my experience I had to restore the file from backup and tried it the same as a "not a table"
error.
