Thanks for your response (and Wayne's).
BCP is what I was thinking of when I mentioned "mass batch inserts". And my gut feeling was that this was the way to go.
Just out of curiosity, *is* there any "shortcut" "faster" way of inserting records (from VisC or whatever) besides just doing regular SQL-INSERT's? Forgetting BCP for a moment, if one *did* want to insert stuff quickly real-time into SQL Server, is there some esoteric way of doing it at a low level?
Hope I'm making myself clear. I just want to come back and tell these people that BCP is the way to go because there is no feasible super-fast alternative real-time way.
