I'm reminded of a recent experience that I had (I am NOT saying that this applies in ANY way to YOU...)
A few years ago, I did a proposal for a fairly small "Criminal History" system. The job went to another local company (that had connections, it turns out, to someone in the gov. agency making the decision....surprise, surprise).
I recently received a phone call from the new person in charge of the Criminal History department. He said that they bought a Criminal History system, that it had been installed about 8 months previously, and has NEVER worked. Could I come in to look at it to see if I could fix it...the company that wrote it was non-responsive, and they'd been fully paid for the system. [After some discussion I realized that it was the system for which I did the proposal, so I was able to say: "you should have hired me in the first place." ;-) ]
I went to see the Visual FoxPro system... yes, it was impressive looking...NICE screens...and yes, it "did not work." Clicking the CANCEL button on a NEW entry hung the system. The "security" system kept track of the number of users in the system, and if an app hung, it continued to be counted as one user - so once the system hung 3 times, no more logins were allowed. EDIT did not work at all. In 8 months, the user had entere 3 records...very impressive.
Anyway...I'm sure your systems work as well as they look...J
