Fred,
I also have a client who demands that we print the entire check. I have never dealt with non-pre-printed checks. The client says he can get, and his printer can use this magnetic ink toner.

What I need to know is how do I print this check? I know I need this MICR-B font for the routing, but.
Is the whole check and stub printed using this toner?
Could you point me to any more info?

BTW, UT and this thread are terrific. I got this demand yesterday, searched on "Check Font", and Viola.

Thanks,

>>I have a client that wants to print checks on blank safety paper using a laser printer. It has been about 8 years since I did it and back then you needed the magnetic ink toner. Does anyone know if you still need that? I have heard that you don't need it anymore. Also, where can I get that special font for printing the bank info at the bottom of the check.

>Micr Toner carts. are relatively easy to find on the net. As far as printing things like bank logos and the graphics. There are shareware programs on the net to convert graphic files to a softfont file (which is what a client of mine does). They convert .pcx files (scans of the bank logos and graphics) to SoftFont files and copy those files to either the printer port or the UNC path (ip address) of the printer. My client has been doing this for years without any problems. They have a client that prints several thousand check per day without any complaints.
