>Get wwIPStuff from
www.west-wind.com to send emails even with no email client installed. You just set the SMTP server (your Exchange Server) and a few other properties and it does the magic.
The problem is that it
is using my Outlook, and when I try to send email programmatically (attempting with wwipstuff.sendmapimail) it launches a nasty little dialogue from Outlook saying that some program is trying to send email using it, and it may be a virus. Then it offers Yes/No/Help, but Yes is not available for five seconds. And guess what, it repeats for each message.
Outlook's help says it's a combined Outlook2k/W2k feature (i.e. it wouldn't work in other settings), and since it's a security thing, of course there's no way to switch it off (because then the virus author would be switching it off). The trouble is that I'm sending that using a different username, not my own (or client's own when this gets deployed), because this username was created with all other security issues in mind (can't even go to take a leak without admin's permission, nearly can't login anywhere, but it will be able to send emails). WWIPstuff logs it in fine, the message takes off, attachments go fine, everything's fine - except it uses Outlook and not straight MAPI. Is there any setting to tell it to use just MAPI without any client software?
