I think it depends on which PDF package you are using.

If it's any help the Amyuni PDF system has a Concatenate option which lets you append onto the end of an existing PDF file

There are also a few utilites downloadable from the web which let you merge 2+ pdf documents - I found them (last year) just searching for PDF.
